Join advertising music supervisor and KCRW DJ and radio personality Jason Kramer (Elias Arts, KCRW) as he sits

down with the audience for a live Q&A session where you can ask him anything you'd like.

Jason Kramer, one of the leading music supervisors and creative music consultant in the music business. He was recently the head of music supervision for Elias Arts, a prestigious music production company based in Santa Monica and New York. Over the last five years, Jason has worked on more than 1,000 commercials.  Jason recently won the award Best Music Supervision in Advertising by the Guild of Music Supervisors for 2013 and nominated in 2014.

 

At Elias Arts, he has created a live interview showcase called “Unreleased” where he has featured artists like Tom Odell, Jess Glyne, Robert Delong, Rudimental, Clean Bandit, Macy Gray and many more.

 

Outside of Elias, Jason is the host of his popular radio show every Tuesday nights on 89.9 fm KCRW in Santa Monica. He has been part of the KCRW team for 17 years where he has been instrumental with introducing new artists to his audience.  

 

He also wanted to get familiar in radio so he answered phones at KLOS radio in 1992, which lead him years later to co-producing syndicated radio shows for Fox Sports radio such as The Adam Schien Show and Raceday on Fox.

 

 In 2000, Jason was one of the original VJ for Soundbreak.com (the first internet radio station). Soundbreak broke the ground combining both live video and chat room. He produced a five-hour show with live interviews and guests every Sunday morning.

 

Returning this semester, Jason teaches a class at UCLA on music supervision. He has also given lectures at other colleges including one for Radio Beijing on creating a radio show. He also moderates various panels on music supervision and the future of music. Jason has worked with different organization in the past regarding music. He volunteered at the David Lynch Foundation and also was on the Fox Music/ Hamilton High School Grammy foundation program where he mentored high school kids for many years.

 

Jason started working in music in 94 with Skunk Records, the label known for the band Sublime. In the past Jason has also worked working in various music houses and TV stations including Fox Sports for 6 years. He has also had experience in managing bands including the rock band LA Guns.
