Panos Cosmatos is an accomplished director and the son of the greek movie director George P. Cosmatos, director of iconic films of the 80's and 90's, including Tombstone, Cobra, and Rambo First Blood Pt II, and a Swedish experimental artist mother. He spent his formative years traveling all over the globe before settling in western Canada. In 1980, the family lived for a year in Mexico, where exposure to the strange, local interpretations of American pop culture had a profound and lasting effect on his creative life. He obsessed over the minutiae of heavy metal, fantasy art, science fiction, and horror films, which he still does to this day. Panos' first film, Beyond the Black Rainbow, showcased his uniquely singular visual style.
